If I didn't use this site I could have gotten fucked down the road. I didn't hear anything about this before and it's huge. $600 is nothing it used to be $20,000, you use Ebay, Amazon, sites like that and the IRS is going to be getting a tax document. The fun part is they are going to assume that's all profit and now people are going to have to try to prove they were just selling old things they had at a loss and so on. It's going to fuck over a lot of people who don't have old receipts laying around.
Yeah, I was thinking about the clothes I bought that don't fit and still have the tags on them....I would get to claim the losses on them..... This really screws me though because I make a lot on etsy and sell some on eBay just to help pay the taxes, like the 15% social security, plus state and federal income taxes....now I need to get clever and figure out how to diversfy......
I’m pulling out of eBay altogether. Without giving them my SSN they locked my account... ant even buy stuff. 21 years and nearly1000 feedback gone. Off to gunbroker I go.
All of the freelancers I know voted for biden, they always said that since they didn't make $400k their taxes would not go up.
