So if free speech protects the professor's rights to speak consistently with his beliefs, it should also do so for the students. So If I use "gendered" or "outdated" language like mankind or Oriental in a paper or if I decide to capitalize White or leave black lowercase, then the professor as an agent of the school can criticize that in his comments but can't deduct points from my grade, right? After all, the Bill of Rights trumps the academic style guide.
