Taxation is slavery. Follow my logic. We are working to pay ppl to sit on their A....
The masters sit at home and we toil for wages and then give 20-35% to these bums. LBJ should have been assassinated not JFK.
Mileage tax is a way to force everybody to make their vehicles trackable by the government 100% of the time, every single place you go. Absolutely NOT happening!
Well, unless you own and maintain an older car, people won't have the option to lose their tracker within a few years. And you'd better not carry around one of those spy-on-me phones that almost everybody seems to have now, because they'll use data from that as a back-up for "lost my tracker" cases. Or it'll be like road tolls -- lost your ticket? law says you pay the maximum possible amount.
Neither do my vehicles, but they're all over 20 years old, and there will be fewer and fewer non-trackable vehicles on the roads with each passing year. Plus many people don't realize how trackable their vehicles are.
Same goes for phones. My current one is not trackable beyond cell tower triangulation, and much of that is not recorded anywhere for any significant length of time. But it's 3G and 3G signal coverage is going start disappearing by early next year. There are very few 4G phones on the market that can reliably block specific location tracking, and they are expensive and not offered by phone service providers as part of plans where the cost can be spread out. Realistically, this means they will remain a niche market item, unless a big chunk of our population starts wising up fast.
Anyone that doesn't think they're currently paying this hasn't ever had to fill a vehicle up with that mysterious "go" juice before. Not only that, it's a very progressive tax, the bigger bulkier or non-efficient vehicle you drive, you pay more!
Those that plug in your vehicles, you might be saving a couple cents at home and you should definitely pay for your malfeasance of not paying the crude price.
If this isn't the case, then tell me what "dyed diesel" is.
I know someone who knows someone who knows "someone" who used to drive a diesel powered car and would often fill up on the red go juice, oops...by accident of course.
We pay taxes on every gallon of gas we buy. They forced the car companies to become more fuel efficient.. gas prices go up and less is sold.. so now they have a deficit in those tax revenues.
I won't pay. fuck em.
They couldn't even get this done in CA it's just a recycled idea from the early 2000's.
They don't have to track cars. Just tax gas more. Estimate low side average cars MPG then add it to the gas tax. They screw all of us and almost no one will get it.

My car doesnt have that kind of feature, and my phone doesnt have those services turned on.

Its a way to destroy the middle class with more wealth redistribution while the pink haired skateboarding city dwellers will pay nothing.

It's all taxation without representation.
Don't pay it.
This idea has been around for years. Some are saying it's unenforceable; good luck with that.
It would ruin the economy. That's the whole idea.

That's good to hear. New cars don't have gas caps now so can't even top em off, so you have to pay more in taxes that way too. It's bs.
