Note: this won't be the time the audio information hit the microphone as there is a propagation delay from the microphone to the ADC.

Cameras are mounted high so they can't be tampered with, and thus pointed low at the ground. They wouldn't be pointed at the sky.
The only "wideo" we have is stills from a numberpad cam that snaps picks of people entering codes at the gate... so it's pointed at face level... which is why you are able to see the plane in the background.

Also, security camera footage in 2001 was typically recorded on VHS cassettes that would over-record so to conserve space, you typically only took low framerate footage, and since it was VHS, your resolution was piss-poor.
