I've worked with a few Africans over the years and they are the most hard working and appreciative group of people I've ever trained, closely followed by some of the Indians I've worked with.
These people know what reality looks like and when they're well off - but boy did they have to earn the situations they were in, it wasn't luck and sure as hell wasn't positive discrimination.
In comparison, most of the Brits I've worked with are lazy and expect everything to be done for them, which is why my field of expertise is dominated by foreign workers. Not all mind, but as a percentage the white Brits were the hardest to train and were also the least likely to pass on their knowledge to others without being told to.
Our western society has definitely been compromised, and what annoys me the most is that the people bleating about white privilege are the ones who are making it fucking happen.
In all seriousness, the current crop is terrible and I can understand why companies would not want to hire American...(i'm not saying your place did but this is just in general)

I'm in the UK, and there just isn't enough local talent to fill all the positions in my line of work, so companies have to look elsewhere.
