There has been an active, winning campaign that has insisted that the Constitution and all rights guaranteed by it applies to anyone who resides within our borders. I think that the only thing non-citizens can't do is vote, but obviously they want to change that too.
The constitution does not give any rights. It restricts the government. It recognizes the God given rights that all men have. We have these rights regardless of the government. And those rights belong to all men, but are ensured within these borders.
Unfortunately, people think the constitution is what gives us rights and that is incorrect.
