It is exceedingly rare that a person who is not a completely corrupt pile of shit ever aspires to be a politician. Politicians are like communists - not human.
What's interesting is that quite a few didn't start out that way. The system corrupted them.
I've watched this happen in real time, and it's why we should never put them on any sort of a pedestal. We need to treat them like what they're supposed to be: servants.
I've always thought it was the reverse in American politics. It should read, "Only the Corrupt seek Power, and only the Absolutely Corrupt seek all power"
And why they should have a term limit. 2 terms.
Will make them stop thinking they are more important than anyone else, and that after those 2 terms, they will be just people once again
We had an interesting conversation about term limits at my Constitutional Class last week.
I made the point that if the crooks have less time in office, they'll just push the grifting even faster.
There's also the revolving door from politics into lobbying that defeats the purpose of term limits.
The best point was that swapping out talking head politicians is ineffective because the real power in The Swamp lies with the career staffers and other parts of the real Deep State. When was the last time a politician actually wrote a bill?
The answer to all of the above is seriously shrinking the central government.
Very well noted.
But I'm sure there is something that can be done curb all you discussed here.
I saw one pede outline some very practical steps and it was quite intriguing.
Wish I could get his comment.
But I understand what you're saying and you're very right as well.
As they should. Pete can choke on a dick. I've been paying gas taxes and exorbitant tolls my entire adult life here in NY. Not my fault they just stole it instead of spending it on infrastructure as intended. If Mayor Skippy thinks I'm giving him a print out of my car odometer every years he's even more clueless than I assumed. Come get it along with my guns
You won't need to give Skippy a print out. This is how Biden's administration "creates jobs." They will have government car inspection sites just like emissions testing. They can have a bunch of useless government employees who suck off of the federal tit "working" there.
When you roll up to get your mileage checked they might have us bend over and pull our pants down for a COVID test too. It never ends...this is how socialism starts. Death by a thousand cuts.
That's my point. We already do it with vehicle inspections. Now they will just ramp it up and expand it. Don't want to go and report your mileage? Your license and registration will be revoked and you will be fined? It's coming...
Did you write this yourself or get it from somewhere else?
Either way, I present you with my award of the day! I know it's early, but this is beautiful & worthy!!!

I had to go back and look at a completed tax return generated by TurboTax for something one time and there were multiple versions of the same form with conflicting info and the IRS accepted it.

It's to justify implementing their total awareness system more fully. Every vehicle tracked everywhere it goes, and the handy ability to disable or destroy it remotely, too. Most of that is already possible but a standardized system would simplify control of freedom of movement
They want to force everyone into electric cars. Democrat politicians' electric vehicles will of course be exempted from the remote disabling.
Everything you said makes total sense. Maybe it's time to get a horse.
To be fair, when I was a kid I asked my parents for one but of course never got it, so two birds with one stone - avoiding taxes and checking an item off my bucket list.
Of course. They don’t want us plebes to have vehicles. They don’t was us to have a decent sized home, or eat steaks, or travel around too much, or think too much.
Ex motorweek columnist Eric Peters of ‘epautos’ has a whooooole series of rants on this. The nutty CAFE rules are a big part of frustrating us off the roads.
Yep. California already ran into that problem, so they tried raising gas taxes. Electric vehicles don’t pay the gas tax, so they have to get creative, like charging by miles driven.
I want to dig into that when I have some time, I distinctly recall CA trying to get a mileage tax passed, but the part I don't remember is why it went quietly away, I seem to recall they looked into how much it would cost to retrofit all the cars in the state with monitoring equipment, and it was so horrendously expensive, they know they'd never get the voters to approve the cost. Something like that. Oh, and some fairly serious personal privacy issues as well.
But I suspect we may get a Federal mileage tax by the end of the year. Both sides like it, it's more money for the Fed. A lot of money.
Because they want the money, duh. Biden was flaunting the idea of a mileage tax yesterday to pay for his infrastructure horror bill. They gotta get those trillions somewhere, without cutting anything.
You're gonna get taxed for buying gas, and then taxed for using it.
Buttigieg's father, a communist, Joseph Buttigieg, joined Notre Dame's faculty as a professor of modern European literature and literary theory in 1980. An only child, Buttigieg had always been close with his father, who passed away in 2019. The senior Buttigieg had a profound impact on "Mayor Pete." Joseph Buttigieg supported a revised version of Marxism that dispensed with some of the more doctrinaire theories of Marx and Engel's, yet he was clearly Marxist. “Equity, environmental consciousness, and racial justice are surely some of the ingredients of a healthy Marxism" he wrote. According to Paul Kengor, Grove City College professor and expert in communism and progressivism, Buttigieg was among a group of leftist professors who focused on injecting Marxism into the wider culture. The senior Buttigieg wrote that he found Marx's description of emancipation as the eradication of humans' alienation from each other and their alienation from their own productive and creative activity to be "compelling." And that to reach this kind of freedom, "the many forms of oppressive structural relations must be confronted and altered and, just as important, the constitution of social agents cannot be limited to the liberal language of rights."
So assuming 20mpg you’re already getting taxed 3 cents a mile...
How to you tax electric vehicles is what this cuck is really trying to figure out. Here’s the answer. You don’t why the fuck would you tax something you’re trying to incentivize? Maybe build some functioning power infrastructure tax the electric car based on KWh used I’m sure the Tesla can wirelessly send that information directly to the IRS with your social security number and address.
Exactly, blue areas where people commute to work by public transportation: subways, buses, and so forth will avoid this for the most part while more rural areas where people have to drive and those areas tend to vote red, they’re the most heavily affected. Buttedgeedge may be an idiot, but this is suspiciously targeted despite the high gas taxes in most states they want even more “for infrastructure”. He’s just the face (or the ass depending on how you want to look at it), but this is a targeted effort to extract as much money as possible from the people who actually make this country work. Please, no one let them fool you. I remember reading a few articles about when bananas were first sold in NYC decades ago. They hate you, and they want to tax you more than you can afford to maintain a lifestyle for your families but they want the fruits of your labor. Call it the heartland, flyover country, deplorables, or whatever, but that’s a big part of who makes this country great. And to be honest, I’ll do what I can to avoid something like this, between this which was proposed months ago and all the reparation proposals, like President Trump said himself in the first debate: I am a businessman I don’t want to pay taxes, and I cannot support this.
In a lot of red areas, the density simply isn’t there to support any alternative to cars.
This, too, is part of their design. Before WWII, even small towns had central areas where businesses were concentrated and where the train station would be. If you couldn't drive a car, you could still live in the center and do fine.
Then starting in the '50s the establishment started tearing down the transportation infrastructure and making it harder and harder for people without cars. Eventually most people were, in a sense, enslaved to the automobile industry. Skyrocketing gas prices in the '70s were bad enough, but now technology will let them see everywhere you drove in your car.
100% spot on. This tax is an absurdly regressive tax from a party that claims to champion the poor and middle class. It’s clearly not designed to actually help anyone.
Between this tax, raising gas taxes, and energy policies designed to raise energy prices the left is trying to force us into high density urban areas with mass transit as the only form of transportation. It’s all part of the urban planning push that has been going on for decades.
They need to move us into urban areas bc we’re easier to control. People who live in rural areas are more independent, more conservative, own guns, and are less trusting of government. They hate that and are trying to kill the spirit of American independence.
Exactly right. UN Agenda 2030 spells this out, every objective they have works towards a goal of hoarding us into mega cities restricting our movement and freedoms.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is thinking up new ways to fund infrastructure
Here's an idea, the government should stop sending trillions of american taxpayers dollars to foreign countries. Maybe then we could afford to improve our own infrastructure. But nah let's just make more taxes.
I watched Mr. Smith goes to Washington, that movie is from the 50s (i think) the democrats were talking fixing infrastructure in that movie....its bullshit. The money never goes for schools or infrastructure it goes to political favors, other countries, themselves and purchasing children.
It's not even a movie, it happens in reality. The california gas tax was supposed to go toward caltrans or the train to nowhere or something. That's literally what the proposition said and what people voted for.
Newscum comes along after it passes and says he's using the money to "combat climate change".
This is a good idea but even now, US states can afford to fix their own infrastructure. States waste money on useless projects and go begging to the federal government for aid. This delays time crucial projects such as road and bridge repairs while they wait for the federal aid to be approved. States are not poor, they're not lacking in funds. Very few European countries would be in the top 15 of the most wealthy US states, and yet for some reason, there's this narrative going around that the federal government needs to introduce bigger infrastructure budgets to help the small, poor states.
Sweden has a GDP of 530 million. Washington state has a GDP of 612 million. So why the fuck does Jay Inslee always have his fucking hand sticking out?
Never going to happen under the current system with the people in charge. Need a nuke dropped on DC when congress is in full session and every power player is in town.
And who is going to read my odometer? I'm not self reporting and if someone from the government shows up they better have a warrant to search my vehicle.
Actually they’ll probably get that info from your auto insurance company. I know with mine I have to submit an annual mileage reading that shows I’m staying within the parameters of my policy, so they’ll probably just forward that info along to the Feds.
As if the average government employee is smart or diligent enough to convert kilos to miles. You'll just be charged per miles based on the number of kilometers.
Don't forget your white privilege tax, I have a decent paying job tax, this isn't "really" your property tax, didn't get a vaccine tax, firearm tax, ammo tax, how dare you not mask up tax..... honk honk
The entire point of these mileage taxes is to discourage travel due to the environment. 2 years ago my wife's sister's husband who is uber leftist had a disdain for low fuel prices. He said they needed to be much higher so people would drive less. He drives for Uber using his wife's car, totaled 2 of her cars already, is a leech, but his wife is also leftist and enjoys wearing the pants. Total cuck material. Although I take that back - I don't think he has worked a day in his life in the last 12-13 months because both of them are hysterical about the China Virus. Bernie Bro first but eventually a Hillary Bro and Biden Bro too, you get the picture of what type of vile scum they both are.
The last time I've seen them was Christmas 2019. About the last time ANY of us felt normal. I'm with you. Not that I enjoyed them much before but I tolerated them. Moving forward I won't spend another second of my time in their company. I feel as though we are truthfully in a "cold civil war."
Hah. I have more stories to tell, but he's a Father now at 50. Their kid is going to grow up retarded, especially being an only child and being taken out of pre-K for the last year.
How much is enough? It's not in effect, but that it's even proposed is fucking atrocious. I have to drive 35 miles a day for my commute, possibly more. I already cant afford shit in my state with its taxes and cost of living, this would make it so much worse.
Seems to me, about 246 years ago, some pretty smart guys figured out a way to get a tax they didn't agree with repealed.
I don't know about you, but, I'm beginning to think my interests as a normal American are no longer represented by our elected officials.
Everyone is going to be buying 1970s mustangs and then roll back the odometer and demand tax credit for "negative" miles and the government like the retard it is will gladly deduct.....
Even if you don't drive a car you will pay more for almost everything that you buy because mostly everything that is transported by trucks will become more expensive to offset the mileage tax.
They're corrupted Democrats or the puppets their subverters have installed after gutting the party from the inside while keeping the exterior 'veneer' intact (somewhat).
I watched the 1972 Robin Hood cartoon the other day for a trip down memory lane. The end of the movie where King John decides to increase taxes x3 to punish people for laughing at him hit too close to home
How are they supposed to enforce this? IRS comes to inspect every car every year? They want red states to pay for public transportation infrastructure for their city dwelling comrades.
A lot of blue governors and mayors passed unconstitutional voting law changes at the last minute by executive order. Entire state elections were conducted unconstitutionally...
It's just a piece of paper on display in a museum now.
We pay tax on used cars, so if a car gets sold four times in its life it has taxes paid on it four times.
When my parents died they taxed everything my Dad owned, and every year they seemed to find another thing they forgot to tax him for while he was alive. While this was going on his business still ran under his estate and generated an income. It took three years for CRA to figure out his estate for probate so for three years they charged more than 50% estate tax before we could officially split the revenue between siblings. Now we each pay slightly less.
Dad has paid more in taxes since dying than I’ve made working since he died 5 years ago. Of the money I’ve earned I’ve effectively had half of it taken back through various taxes.
Things are going to get a lot worse when the true effect of the plandemic hits.
Alex Jones being proven right once again. Government wanting to make travel prohibitively expensive for most people so that we are easier to contain and control.
This has nothing to do with funding their bullshit climate change plans.
Yeah I don’t think so. I’m a master tech and I have the equipment and know how to program vehicles. My truck and my customer’s’ vehicles will always show zero miles travelled.
You have many rights, one of those, is the right to travel..they already twisted that for monetary gains by calling it " driving " and then decided it was a taxable privilege not a right.. What's next a "Religion tax"..then a permit to have children because you know children aren't "carbon neutral"..needless to say it won't stop until we band together and make it stop once and for all..Think about our childrens,children..It has to stop..
On behalf of the entire state of Indiana (well about 60% of it, anyway), I feel the need to apologize for unleashing this dumbass on the entire country. :(

There's an old saw:
During a politician's first term in office, he fights the government on behalf of his constituents.
During a politician's second term in office, he mediates between the government and his constituents.
From a politician's third term in office on, he fights his constituents on behalf of the government.
I like it.
But it seems like the cycle has been expedited a bit recently.
And thus we see why two terms should be the maximum.
If you don’t turn into one you’ll never make it. No one will donate cause you’re a good person.
The other 1% are the same.

Tax his land, Tax his bed, Tax the table at which he's fed.
Tax his tractor, Tax his mule, Teach him taxes are the rule.
Tax his work, Tax his pay, He works for peanuts anyway!
Tax his cow, Tax his goat, Tax his pants, Tax his coat. Tax his ties, Tax his shirt, Tax his work, Tax his dirt.
Tax his tobacco, Tax his drink, Tax him if he tries to think.
Tax his cigars, Tax his beers, If he cries tax his tears.
Tax his car, Tax his gas, Find other ways to tax his ass.
Tax all he has, Then let him know, That you won't be done till he has no dough.
When he screams and hollers, Then tax him some more, Tax him till he's good and sore.
Then tax his coffin, Tax his grave, Tax the sod in which he's laid.
Put these words Upon his tomb, 'Taxes drove me to my doom...'
When he's gone, Do not relax, Its time to apply the inheritance tax.

No I won’t
Filing Taxes in the Year 2031:
Tax Form 29953: Please indicate miles driven during the 2030 tax year.
Me: looks like another big zero for me.
IRS: But you have a car, and moved states!
Me: thats right.
IRS: And your car is registered as a race car in your local racing circuit.
Me: so?
IRS: And you won some of those races!
Me: yeah I dunno, still 0 miles for me!
If I drive in a circle, the distance traveled is zero. I owe nothing.
I wonder if the IRS will hire contractors or have some method with Big Tech to do mileage using your residential address and your employer's address.
Because, you know, all that information is on your W2.
insurance companies with their safe driver devices and shit. it's coming
No thanks. I don't go that route.
that's what i'm saying they're gonna try to make that the norm.
I got my eyes on some pretty nice powered bicycles before i give them another God damn wasted dime.
You know that this is the goal right? If you switch to a bike, dems win.
The trucking industry will pay the tax, which means all consumers will ultimately get to pay it. There’ll be no avoiding it.
If you don’t think they’ll figure out a way to tax bicycles in the event people switch over, you are, unfortunately, as high as Hunter Biden.

Time to buy a pre-1996 car that doesn't have OBDII in it
Why do you think they put OnStar and equivalent in all cars?
LOL, I'd find a way to rip that shit out or disable it.
Experimented with that. If you disconnect the device's cell antenna, it disables the vehicle on many models. You cannot even start it.
Smart cars for dumb people. There's a way around to spoof it or to simply force an electric current through.

Nice how all the richest people in the country now fucking work from home, and all the normies actually commute.
I’ll be the world’s greatest bicyclist and or unicylist
Motorcycles are exempt from most of this shit. Makes me feel better that I'm commuting on 2s
Just bought and am fixing up 1973 Honda CB350 Four.
You already pay "miles traveled tax" aka - taxation on fuel - $0.61 per gallon in California (2019) to $0.15 in Alaska (2019) - chart of every state
Buttigieg sounded like a centrist in the DNC dedbates, but he is anything but
https://www.conservapedia.com/Pete_Buttigieg
Early communist and socialist influence
They’re losing this tax revenue with electric car drivers.
Which is precisely why they do it. Force people to drive the vehicles they and china have more control over.
Yep that's why they want these black box devices installed in every car
"Let's tax electricity" ... "oh, we already do"
This method is worse because it involves government tracking devices on your vehicles.
Wow, another tax targeting red areas on top of the gas tax we already pay. I hate this faggot.
In a lot of red areas, the density simply isn’t there to support any alternative to cars.
Just remember, folks. This isn't about money and taxes, it's about restricting your movement.
Except Covid moved people out of cities
Soon as I learned it was going into the General Fund I lold, more stealing from us in broad daylight.
BASED.
I saw this, fucking ridiculous. Going to destroy what remains of the travel market and take conservation funding with it.
Gas taxes are one of the fairest forms of taxation. The more you use the roads, the more you pay for the roads.
THAT BEING SAID.
This asshole has no intention of using any tax like this to fund roads. It’s gonna go to green bullshit and nothing that car drivers benefit from.
Rural Americans will be screwed. The density just isn’t there for alternatives to driving.
Yeah I know. I’m a farmer in rural America. We can’t produce enough food without diesel and oil.
SOLAR. FREAKING. ROADWAYS!!!!!
I’m sure non-white folks will somehow be exempt in the final bill just before it’s signed.
The ONLY time you will see this covered in the MSM is in an article that defends it.
"Here's why white nationalists are against funding Green Energy." That would be the headline.
Secession is a need.
Pretty much. There is no common ground with people like this. Fuck them.
There are two America's right now. Shitty blue America and glorious red America
"Miles Traveled Tax."
How lovely.
It sounds so.....poetic.
The booty is lovely, dank and deep
But I have campaign promises to keep
And miles to tax before I sleep
And miles to tax before I sleep
— Pete Bootyjuice
I already do, cunt. I pay exorbitant fuel taxes.
Quick, everyone buy obscure german and japanese imports that only have odometers in kilometers. Take that Bootyjudge!
The odometer will read 1.625 times the number of miles you drove, maybe not a good idea if they're simply going to go by the odometer reading.
I'm going to start a company making aftermarket odometers that measure in light-years.
And who is going to read my odometer? I'm not self reporting and if someone from the government shows up they better have a warrant to search my vehicle.
Mine measures furlongs per fortnight
Mine is in cubits.
Is that how they plan to enforce it? Make you report your odometer on your tax returns?
Tracking devices. Not even joking. If you refuse, you are charged a much higher flat rate.
Actually they’ll probably get that info from your auto insurance company. I know with mine I have to submit an annual mileage reading that shows I’m staying within the parameters of my policy, so they’ll probably just forward that info along to the Feds.
I now drive 0 miles per year. Easy!
I can’t be around people like that anymore. I’m all out of tolerance.
The last time I've seen them was Christmas 2019. About the last time ANY of us felt normal. I'm with you. Not that I enjoyed them much before but I tolerated them. Moving forward I won't spend another second of my time in their company. I feel as though we are truthfully in a "cold civil war."
Please erase him if Civil War 2 kicks off.
CT Pede here. Definitely agree with ya. This tax would essentially be suicide. Not even counting the "Mansion tax" my state's employing soon.
Let me guess, they define a "mansion" as anything larger than a section 8 apartment.
It’s not about the money, it’s about restricting your movement and draining wealth.
Government do away with a tax? 😀😃😆😂🤣😅😭😒😤😠😡🤬.
Nah. Some anarchist hackers will find a way to augment digital odometers and share that info with the world. It’ll be ok.
Even if you don't drive a car you will pay more for almost everything that you buy because mostly everything that is transported by trucks will become more expensive to offset the mileage tax.
I refuse to pay this faggot's taxes.
Who could have guessed that faggot wanted to fuck us all in the ass.
Faggots ruin everything.
Democrats are the worst fucking pieces of shit to ever populate this world. Fuck all of them.
These aren't real 'Democrats.
They're corrupted Democrats or the puppets their subverters have installed after gutting the party from the inside while keeping the exterior 'veneer' intact (somewhat).
I didn't vote for this. I will not pay it.
How about we stop sending 2 trillion over seas and spend it on our infrastructure you fucking assholes!
I watched the 1972 Robin Hood cartoon the other day for a trip down memory lane. The end of the movie where King John decides to increase taxes x3 to punish people for laughing at him hit too close to home
That's probably my favorite Disney movie.
Me too. it's underrated
True. Biden is as useless as Prince John and twice as corrupt
How are they supposed to enforce this? IRS comes to inspect every car every year? They want red states to pay for public transportation infrastructure for their city dwelling comrades.
Tracking devices. If you refuse, you will pay a higher flat rate. I'm not even joking.
Unconstitutional, that violates my 4th amendment rights.
Remember how that went with the NSA blanket spying program that was exposed and still continues today. Don't be so sure.
A lot of blue governors and mayors passed unconstitutional voting law changes at the last minute by executive order. Entire state elections were conducted unconstitutionally...
It's just a piece of paper on display in a museum now.
My guess is annual DM checks that certify your odometer reading.
I live in Canada, land of the tax.
This should only apply to electric vehicles since they do not fund the roads via the gas tax
This guy literally gets his shit packed and swallows jizz.
I would be fine with it if they eliminate the gas tax, but you know they won't.
I didn’t know Buttplug got a Federal position.
He’s an idiot, why would we expect anything from someone named Buttplug?
Yeah hes the Head of the Department of Transportation.
He should transport himself back home along with the rest of Biden's Misadministration
Yeah I don’t think so. I’m a master tech and I have the equipment and know how to program vehicles. My truck and my customer’s’ vehicles will always show zero miles travelled.
The Boston tea party was a predecessor to the Declaration of Independence.
Why don’t they take the money they sent to Lithuania and fund their infrastructure project?
How? We'll drive home backwards
On behalf of the entire state of Indiana (well about 60% of it, anyway), I feel the need to apologize for unleashing this dumbass on the entire country. :(
This is how you cripple rural america.
A tax for living in a red county.
It's be fun to watch them try to enforce this.
I’d tell that fucking queer to choke a huge, fat dick, but he’d probably take that as an invitation.
Lol my odometer doesn't work, and it doesn't have to because it's exempt due to age.
Tax him for amount of dicks he's taken in his gaping backside
Even Trump would go broke with that fee.
I've been having odometer probllems lately. Just saying...
