We pay tax on used cars, so if a car gets sold four times in its life it has taxes paid on it four times.
When my parents died they taxed everything my Dad owned, and every year they seemed to find another thing they forgot to tax him for while he was alive. While this was going on his business still ran under his estate and generated an income. It took three years for CRA to figure out his estate for probate so for three years they charged more than 50% estate tax before we could officially split the revenue between siblings. Now we each pay slightly less.
Dad has paid more in taxes since dying than I’ve made working since he died 5 years ago. Of the money I’ve earned I’ve effectively had half of it taken back through various taxes.
Things are going to get a lot worse when the true effect of the plandemic hits.
I live in Canada, land of the tax.
