I went to the grocery store the other day and noticed people (three men) walking out without masks; I was relieved because I had been wondering briefly if this was one of those stores that required them or not, and clearly it wasn't. As I went in, I got some dirty looks at the bakery/flower shop entrance from some women, all in masks. But then I saw a smiling old lady pass by without one and continued on. Other than the cheerful old lady, all women had masks, and no men did (besides employees).

I can see the logic to it; women tend to be more hypervigilant/fear motivated (defensive players) and men tend to be more opportunity motivated (offensive players), just by our evolutionary biology. Men get and build, women maintain and preserve. But I was wondering if this is a convenience sample or something you'd also noticed?

It also made me wonder if at some point it will become like Islam, where women have a social pressure (largely enforced by other women, like so many things) to cover their faces and the like, to show they have the 'right' opinions and submissiveness, and if somehow men will be exempt because submissiveness is not a highly valued trait in our sex.
