It's supposed to gall us. Remember, David wishing horrible deaths upon his enemies is in Psalms, and he was God's beloved. We SHOULD be indignant on God's behalf.
Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Define "turn into beasts." David asked God to slaughter his enemies and their families in the Psalms. Those were his honest feelings, and expressing them was fine with God.
the lake of fire actually ;) it says in revelation that during the judgement, even the dead in hell will be risen for judgement. and those who choose wrong are cast into the lake of fire and extinguished. Jesus stomps their souls out like a cosmic wine press. makes one wonder if we're in hell at the moment, we don't know where we were before we were born, and we know we were cast out of the garden.
Yeah, that makes it alright for us to be complacent and let them do their shit here on earth. A source familiar with Jesus' thinking on the matter reports that he said "don't do anything, that would be like, un-Christian and really bad optics."
Don't forget, God burns these guys in hell forever in the end. Forever. Burning.in.hell. Don't loose hope, they DO NOT WIN
I know that’s true, but damn if it doesn’t gall me how evil this world has become.

Amen!
Psalms 139:21-24 (KJV)

sure, and it'll only get worse and more intense, but we're not supposed to turn into beasts as most people will do
