Stay home. Don't fund their payoffs. Is there a list of projects and their projected amounts? Timeframe for completion? It's more slush fund money like obama pulled in his first year with the FIRST TRILLION he stole from us and never used to realize his infrastructure projects.
Sometimes, this fuse mysteriously disappears after the vehicle has started and then needs to be replaced before it starts again. It is known to cause accuracy problems with the odometer.
Odometer fraud. They won't care about anything mysteriously disappearing, they'll just charge you for it anyways. We're not living in the same country as we used to when you could get away with things like that. If the government wants your money, they're going to get it one way or another. We're living in a communist state. What's yours is theirs.
Staying home would have the same effect and the pandemic, but in this case it would be for the reason of a boycott instead of forced house arrest. It would be for our cause, not theirs.
The problem is this isn't an option for people who have to travel to work. Funny thing is this will REALLY affect the millions of morons in large metropolitan areas like N.Y. and L.A. who still don't have a problem with the election being stolen. Astronomical gas prices and now a mileage tax built into it. Enjoy living in the hell you helped create because you won't be immune from any of it.
You're right and I should have qualified my comment. Stay home when you can. There are people like truckers, office workers, heck even soccer moms who put on a lot of miles. People in large states have to drive long distances just to go to the store. I want to know more about how they plan on using the money, specifically, not focus on how they plan on taking it though.
I have a theory on how people may be able to beat this. Notice you haven't heard from the likes of Uber, Lyft, Doordash, Grubhub, Instacart, etc. You would think these people would be screaming bloody murder and threatening lawsuits because an action like this would destroy their businesses. The reason you haven't is because they're likely being promised behind the scenes that miles accrued while driving for these services will be tax exempt.
That's the solution: If and when they pull such a maneuver, everyone signs up as an Uber/Lyft driver and counts every single trip they take in their car as a "ride share." Commies defeated. Anyone can just sign up. There's no hiring process outside of "I have a name and a vehicle." Even if the Commies catch on and try to remove the tax exemption, the Uber/Lyft/etcs are then forced get on-board with the lawsuits or go out of business. The only way to avoid it would be to change their hiring practices which would also destroy their business model and open themselves up to discrimination lawsuits in return. Legal action would be their only recourse to stay afloat.
Then it must be done at the state level. States can easily pass laws nullifying any action on this and pass immunity laws for cars registered in their states as well as licensed and insured drivers. I imagine it will also serve as a moneymaker for states that believe in freedom as those from out-of-state will flock to purchase cars in states that pass such laws. However, a lot of it depends on how hey plan to implement the plan.
The Left has to made to understand that the 10th Amendment doesn't just apply to when they have to re-open businesses after a fake "emergency." States can do a lot of things on their own.

Don't stay home. Don't pay this tax. How the hell are they going to log everyone's miles or even check if the numbers are accurate?
Staying home would just continue the lockdown, too but for a different reason.
Worst case scenario make up some number so you don't have to pay too much but won't be targeted for tax evasion or something.

Well, that would be very impressive for Big Brother to detect these anomalies. Enjoy your New Normal.

Darned language again. Infrastructure means roads and bridges to us. It means PAYOFFS to politicians. STEALING OUR money ain't cheap.
Biden is the biggest thief in American history

They will just build it into their cost and pass it on to the consumer. If you're right though, it's a great idea.
