I’ll buy that, but I’m not sure why he would call jan 6 violent and play into the media’s narrative, or why he would tell Trump he just needs more votes to overcome the fraud.

Cause it was violent. 5 people fucking died cause of that commie brigade. Trump even called the national guard on them. We’re rounding them all up though.

Was it more violent or peaceful? Taking into account the hundreds of thousands who were there. If people wanted, they could have done some real damage with those numbers.

Contrast what Cruz says with how Trump talks about it, and tell me what the difference is. IMO, that article highlights Trump’s power and why he is the leading force for Republicans right now.

I want Cruz (and others) to learn from his example because if not, we’re doomed.

Because violence did occur. Even if kat of it did happen from undercover antifa losers. These politicians can not and should not get on tv and talk like us.

"the real insurrections are obama, schumer, pelosi, BLM, and antifa! Don't forget nessel and whitmer in MI! I'm hosting a gallows watch party for my constituents! No masks required! If nessel and whitmer don't get thrown out of the chopper when we go to arrest them we'll hang em high at the gallows for all to see when we get back to TX! "

This kind of talk and presentation are insane and would be the end of a career. People don't follow stuff and invest the time to be be informed on what's really happening like we do. It just blows my mind how people on here expect that of politicians. GEOTUS himself did NOT talk or actrlike this. His brash comments or hard lining on issues like the border were not presented anywhere near how people expect guys like Cruz to present them.

At the end of the day these guys have to get votes. They shouldn't lie, but they do have to consider how people will take what they say. A lot of good boomers who watch Fox and were hard trump voters and supporters might get on here and think we're insane if they randomly found this place 1 day and had never heard any of the stuff shared on here. It might "be too much" you could say. And make no mistake, we need the boomers.

We can be hard liners on our beliefs. We should NEVER compromise with these evil people- like the RINOs will surely do here with gun laws, or like Rush taught us NEVER to do either- but we should make our ideas palpable. This isn't lying. Call it "politicing" if you want. I'd like to think this is what Cruz does with these comments.

I've said it in other posts in recent days, maybe I'm wrong about Cruz at the end of the day. I HAVE been suspicious of him since the 2015 primaries. Prior to that I was a big fan. That was prior to all the stuff we know now was revealed, but the last few days there's been so much hate on here for him over stupid, wrong stuff he didn't say or didn't do. I was just correcting objective falsehoods and presenting the idea that the expectation for this guy to scream at CNN, "YOU COMMIES ARE GOING ON A CHOPPA RIDE! AHHHHHHHHH YEEEEE HAAAAWWW! " is just stupid, not based in reality, and insane.

Yes violence did technically occur from Antifa, but calling Jan 6 as a whole violent just implicates the thousands of patriots who were there.

Contrast it with how Trump is speaking about it, which to me is more accurate.

The media focuses on the few violent infiltrators, so we should be focusing on the massive number of peaceful and friendly supporters who were there.

That’s how you play the game. If you do what Cruz does (I don’t hate Cruz, just saying that he hedges like a normal politician would) then you are just helping your enemies.

I’m not saying Cruz should talk like people here do. (he should if he wants to, but I’d understand if he didn’t) I mean that Republicans as a whole are always on the defensive, conceding the made up point of the media and letting them control the discourse. The reason Trump is so hated is that he has the power to redirect the conversation exactly where he wants it to go.

Yup. All true. I guess at the end of the day I'm just saying we can stick to our guns 100%, but manage our expectations. Cruz probably doesn't agree with us on everything. If he's 70% with us good enough for me. I don't consider that a concession when you look at the lunatic left. If we're waiting for a 110% MAGA candidate we're gonna be waiting forever and get nothing done. Even GEOTUS wasn't perfectly MAGA. He spent too much. There should have never been ANY shutdowns. There shouldn't have been ANY covid relief stimulus, debt-spending BS.

I'm not for voting for the lesser of two evils. I'm done with that. You can't get away from it in some aspects though unless people off this forum start running for office.

We have to make all these considerations with our politicians. I have and do, and while I am suspicious of Cruz, I believe him to be generally on our side. I do not put him in the same RINO camp with romney. I think that's objectively false and wrong.

Have a good one, buddy. Keep fighting the good fight. It's never time to give up on america.

The perfect is the enemy of the good. I can’t argue with that. Take care. :)
