If I recall correctly, every muslim sect views every other muslim sect as heretics, to whom all bad things happening to them is good and just. The Uyghurs are their own thing and only in that region, so they have no outside allies in the muslim world. Plus, muslims prefer halal (muslim originating) organs, which the Chinese will totally harvest out of a living Uyghur, for a price. Win-win for them.

Didn't know that. Good to know. Guess its the same as everything else - no one cares unless that have to and it won't be a hinderance to them.

The ones that call everyone else heretics are "Takfiris". That's what Wahhabists and ISIS and shit are.

Sunnis and Shi'ites as a whole see each other as Muslims, just misguided. Most of it's rooted in political stuff.

Sunni vs Shia started as an argument over who Muhammad's successor should be

There's also an undercurrent of Arabs and Persians are very different people and their version of Islam is going to reflect that. Persians have always had higher culture than Arabs, being more of the city-builder type than the nomadic trader type they had a lot more opportunity for leisure activities like philosophy.

Arab culture became great because of Islam.Arabs are mostly gulf people;the Syrians and Lebanese are indo European and they have a greater culture than Gulf people historically.

Sunnis made it political because they want to rule. Every prophet had a successor and even Jesus appointed Simon as rock of the church. So why couldn’t Mohammed do the same? Simple answer is that he did.

What did/was the Sunni argument against accepting a successor? Not trying to be an ass about asking, purely curious.

Their argument was that there wasn’t a successor. They don’t accept what we believe as clear evidence for appointment of succession.

Everyone is also racist, and I doubt an Arab or African cares nearly as much about Asiatic muzz getting sent to camp as they do about bombs falling on their homeland.
