One person I would say to keep an eye on is John Doyle. He and Fuentes seem to be of the same political bent, but Doyle seems a lot more level headed and can “play the game” so to speak. I’m not sold on Fuentes. He certainly seems on the side of right wing populism, but he lacks the charisma to lead a movement with people other than 16-24 year old males. Watching his show, he’s combative with his own supporters, and has already started believing in his own cult of personality. I think he’s useful, but not going to be the central figure in the movement.
Someone to keep an eye on is John Doyle. Doyle has the same energy and passion as Fuentes, but he’s far more articulate and seems to have a much better handle on policy than Fuentes. Doyle is only 21 or so, so he has some room to grow, but I could see him overtaking Fuentes. I think Doyle is a lot smarter than Fuentes as well. If you haven’t heard of him, I would look him up on YouTube.
He was one of the key figureheads of Stop the Steal, something Doyle has never partaken in (which is important). If he can summon hundreds or thousands of motivated high-energy individuals, then he is very useful in diverting conservative politics into America First.
I’m not questioning Fuentes’s ability to mobilize young men to political action. He’s made his abilities abundantly clear. But I don’t think that Fuentes will grow much more beyond where he’s at. He’s got a very young support base, a base that is eventually going to get married, have kids, etc. Fuentes just isn’t palatable to most people. He’s not going to run for office one day. Doyle is someone that I think definitely could.
I wish Fuentes the best, but he doesn’t seem like the guy we want spearheading the charge.
Nick has gotten way more into political activism with his AFPAC conference, which had former congressman Steve King and incumbent congressman Paul Gosar present, and he opened up a thing called AF Candidates where fans of his who are 25+ can apply to run for office with funding from his non-profit (America First Foundation) and his support, which will be pushing some candidates into congress in 2022.
He made his way to the walls of Congress back in February and that is from being de-platformed on all the major platforms and constantly silenced. I think he and the movement still has a lot of room to grow especially if his message reaches the right people who can place spheres of influence themselves. Regardless of what you think of Nick personally, his message is real and what is needed in this country. This country is fundamentally broken and needs radical change. Radical changes require radical solutions.
I agree completely on the part about the message. Trump ran in 2016 on an America First platform, whether he knew it or not. I think Fuentes is doing a good job of creating the framework for a real populist/nationalist movement. And I think he will do very well for a few more years. But I don’t think he’s going to ever be electable. He’s not very likeable or charismatic. When you watch how he interacts with his chat, he can be an outright douche. For young men, that kind of attitude can be endearing, but the American electorate is more than that.

Basically, there are still a few people that still have their toes in the water for McCain/Bush style conservatism and haven’t made the full leap into the new conservatism that Trump paved the way for.

I’m not sold on Fuentes. He certainly seems on the side of right wing populism, but he lacks the charisma to lead a movement with people other than 16-24 year old males. Watching his show, he’s combative with his own supporters, and has already started believing in his own cult of personality. I think he’s useful, but not going to be the central figure in the movement.
Someone to keep an eye on is John Doyle. Doyle has the same energy and passion as Fuentes, but he’s far more articulate and seems to have a much better handle on policy than Fuentes. Doyle is only 21 or so, so he has some room to grow, but I could see him overtaking Fuentes. I think Doyle is a lot smarter than Fuentes as well. If you haven’t heard of him, I would look him up on YouTube.
He was one of the key figureheads of Stop the Steal, something Doyle has never partaken in (which is important). If he can summon hundreds or thousands of motivated high-energy individuals, then he is very useful in diverting conservative politics into America First.
I’m not questioning Fuentes’s ability to mobilize young men to political action. He’s made his abilities abundantly clear. But I don’t think that Fuentes will grow much more beyond where he’s at. He’s got a very young support base, a base that is eventually going to get married, have kids, etc. Fuentes just isn’t palatable to most people. He’s not going to run for office one day. Doyle is someone that I think definitely could.
I wish Fuentes the best, but he doesn’t seem like the guy we want spearheading the charge.
Nick has gotten way more into political activism with his AFPAC conference, which had former congressman Steve King and incumbent congressman Paul Gosar present, and he opened up a thing called AF Candidates where fans of his who are 25+ can apply to run for office with funding from his non-profit (America First Foundation) and his support, which will be pushing some candidates into congress in 2022.
He made his way to the walls of Congress back in February and that is from being de-platformed on all the major platforms and constantly silenced. I think he and the movement still has a lot of room to grow especially if his message reaches the right people who can place spheres of influence themselves. Regardless of what you think of Nick personally, his message is real and what is needed in this country. This country is fundamentally broken and needs radical change. Radical changes require radical solutions.
I agree completely on the part about the message. Trump ran in 2016 on an America First platform, whether he knew it or not. I think Fuentes is doing a good job of creating the framework for a real populist/nationalist movement. And I think he will do very well for a few more years. But I don’t think he’s going to ever be electable. He’s not very likeable or charismatic. When you watch how he interacts with his chat, he can be an outright douche. For young men, that kind of attitude can be endearing, but the American electorate is more than that.
I think Doyle is a lot more precise in his language and he knows how to walk the fine line a lot cleaner. I could be completely wrong, I am just an armchair politics enthusiast. Just my observation.
I also believe that he shouldn't be a politician but more of an adviser. But I agree with you. The only problem with Doyle is that he sometimes associates himself with lukewarm conservatives and grifters.
