Satan is the king of this age. That is God's own warning. Satan will of course be defeated - but for now, he prowls the earth like a roaring lion seeking all whom he may devour. We're supposed to fight him, every moment, every day.
Jesus already came and died for our sins, therefore Satan is ALREADY defeated. Yes he seeks who he may devour but those with the armor of God cannot be deceived. Satan is the God of this world but he does not hold dominion over any of us.
Satan is only 'king' of this age, or this era on earth - it's not permanent. Jesus defeated death, and saved all who believe in Him from certain doom. That was a massive defeat for Satan. But that doesn't mean Satan is gone. We are still here and still fallen men, and Satan is alive and well on planet earth. Revelation is when it all comes to a head. Until then, the war rages on.
.βHe disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.β Our great captain has won the contest. The seed of the woman has bruised the head of the seed of the serpent (Gen. 3:15).
