If you can't figure out how to get an ID, you shouldn't be voting anyway. If you can't get your own shit together you have no right deciding things for others.

They argue that the cost of acquiring an ID is prohibitive.

The same people who want to government to pay for everything else.

If there is anything the government should pay for, it should be those documents they require for travel and voting.

And if there is ANYTHING that should require ID, it should be voting to control our 5 trillion dollar budget and the biggest military in the world.

No, government shouldn't pay for an ID either. The same logic applies. If you cannot even afford an ID, you don't have your shit together enough to decide policies for others.

If you care about securing elections by voter id, requiring states to make them cost-free kills the strongest argument democrats have against voter-id laws.

I agree that voting shouldn't be easy (honestly I think voting is an attempt to make the immoral seem moral and that the entire institution should be abolished) but if it is to exist, it should at least not be easy to cheat.
