I posted this quote in another thread and am posting it here again because it bears repeating. It definitely applies now as communists/activists have constantly sought out positions of authority and power so they can enforce their beliefs on us. MAGA peeps usually don’t have that drive (because we’re not megalomaniacs) and that needs to change big time. We need to do the same and beat them at their own game; not because we want to, but because we have to.
We are the people, not them, and we are the ones that need to fix this mess.

Exactly. This republic was established so that we the people could govern ourselves, but somewhere along the way government and participating in that process even on the local level was seen as bad by the GOP and right.
Politics is all about possessing institutional power and using that power to help friends.
