Today my wife went into a gas station to get a bag of ice. The attendant working was an elderly white lady, and the customers in front of my wife were 4 half black looking 20 something kids. The attendant said something along the lines of" I know you! I had you in my second grade!" and commented on how big the kid has grown, which he replied "I don't know, I don't keep track of white people like that". My wife was pretty upset, and me not wanting to spend my 12th time in jail, decided the kangs weren't worth the jail time. I mean, these fine young men are obviously going to grow up to be Marines or doctors or something. I have a bit of a short fuse, and had my kids and I been in the gas station when it happened, I probably wouldn't have been able to stop myself from a 4th assault charge. I'm writing this to ask, has the propaganda weakened me to the point of unrestraint? Should I just let stuff like this roll off of me, and explain it to my kids later in an educated and collected manner? Or, should I stand up for my race physically to show my kids that this won't be tolerated? Would that have been a hate crime now under this administration?

I am not white and this shit is making me hateful. I have a handful of co-workers. All white that say" this is why i hate white people". Most are centrists that hate Biden but i find it strange.

That would be a teachable moment for your kids. Take advantage of them when they come up. Here is the deal, those kids have peaked, they already have likely already met the highest achievement that they ever will attain. Use this to motivate your children understanding of the real world and what failure looks like.

I feel you. I think there are a lot of people that are being pushed to the edge. Sounds like you did the right thing though. If she was being physically assaulted, rather than just insulted, a different choice might have been appropriate.

I live in a very white area. I can go weeks without seeing a black person. I am thankful because I grew up in Rochester, NY and if I still lived there I would have started playing minecraft by now.

A long time ago, when the judicial system was a balance between letter of the law and spirit of the law, hauling off and smacking that little shit down would have been no problem, and the kids parents would beat his ass when he got home for embarrassing them.
America is way past the point of peaceful return at this point. Satan started his work a very long time ago with widely publicized (by his willing followers in the press) cases of extreme and horrifying child abuse. Corporal punishment was brought into their sites, and they paved the road to this hell with the good intention of stopping severe abuse.
After half a century on this fallen planet, one of my biggest regrets ever was wondering as a child what "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" meant.
