No matter how right or wrong, how do cultural upheavals end?
Do they play themselves out, does some opposing force counter them, or do they over-play and people over-correct?
What caused the 60s to end for instance?

Communism. They end with communism.
We gotta fight, but we don't.
We're currently doing pretty much everything that happened in China 1930 to 1950.
If we don't start fighting, we will be communism. Of course they won't call it that but it will be communism
