I don’t really buy the idea that a single force controls the puppet strings. The enemies of freedom are legion; fascist juntas, technocrats, marxists, the permanent state, insane billionaires, the Israel lobby (increasingly an authoritarian surveillance state with imperialist goals, this is undeniable) neocons and corporate media that serve our own surveillance state... and on and on.
