My dad used to work in proper down town Atlanta in the 90s. We’d occasionally run errands or go to work with him. Never ever did he ever not carry a side arm in his door compartment.

One day when I was little we stopped at an intersection. A man across the way saw us, looked left, looked right and proceeded to strut straight across the street toward our vehicle.

My Dad, calm as a cucumber just picked up his snub-nose revolver open the Velcro holder and just palm the revolver flat on the glass on the drivers side window. He didn’t need to aim, or over react. He simply let the guy know the situation and the man proceeded to take a HARD L turn and see himself out.

The gun work just as well as a preventive measure as anything.
