Wouldn’t blame him for not letting go after she took off as fast as that car would go. He had about 1.5 seconds to let go before she was at a speed that would probably be fatal anyway if he let go.
Bet that car had a keyless fob so he couldn’t take the keys out if he turned it off all the girls had to do was push a button and start it back up.
Only thing he could have done without a tool or physical force is throw his keys far enough away from the car and push the stop/start button.
