Let's all stop with the shaming and blaming. Try lifting others up and supporting them instead. That is desperately needed. I can't be the only one tired of the labels like "Boomers" and "Doomers". Putting all Boomers into one category is beyond ridiculous. We lived through the back-to-the-land era. Many of us were rural dwellers, homesteaders and taught our children self-sufficiency and respect. Many of us home schooled. We didn't care about the latest this or that, didn't care about celebrities or award shows or what was popular. Not everyone lived in the big cities or espoused the value system or culture. Our exposure to that was more limited. Our children raised THEIR children in a more digital, technological era that is falling apart. Our grandchildren are the ones we are more concerned about. We grandparents are dismayed, appalled, and terrified of our remaining years and future generations the way Society is moving. We are now at the age where we are pulling for future generations but feel our hands are tied and the die has been cast. Many of us retire when we are still too vital to sit out our time. We are far from washed-up. We are active volunteers in our communities. We are the caretakers and participants in the lives of OUR living parents, our children, their children and in some cases great-grandchildren!
