If Texas goes, we're taking some other states with us. I'm guessing Louisiana and Florida would join us. The Gulf Coast Coalition should totally be a thing.

Yep, a much better alternative. Also, instead of seceding from the Union, I've seen where parts of states are talking about breaking away and joining another state. Eastern Oregon is taking about leaving the state of Oregon and becoming part of the state of Idaho.
That's a better alternative in my opinion. It will reduce the electoral votes of a blue state like Oregon and add electoral votes to a red state like Idaho.
There's a lot of state sovereignty issues that make these redivision ideas very challenging.
It would be great to see Dems rediscovering the concept of States' rights, though.

The entire south East follows Texas. Probably a sizable portion of the mid west and a goodly sum of counties from other states.
