As bad as GAB is, it still had few years of evolution as opposed to Trump starting anything new. His platform has to start from ground zero and good luck getting any good software developers. They are more or less leftists, yes some are conservative but not a majority. NOt to mention how parler was taken off AWS, appstore, playstore. He better have a plan for it other than just web based platform.
If branding is a problem for Gab, wait till what brand Trump's social media platform is going to get.
If I have to predict, not many major world leaders will join his platform and very few non-conservatives will join.
All in all, I just see this as a lose-lose proposition with lot of challenges. He is better off campaigning hard against RINOS and getting them recalled/impeached. Heck even running for congress in 2022 and replacing Nancy Pelosi is a much saner idea than this platform.
It’s not like he is going to be doing this himself. There are a ton of highly skilled people out there that can get this done that are dyed in the wool MAGA people, myself included.
I’m sure his people are too smart to rely on anyone else’s data center to run this. They will have there own highly available hardware environments to support this. It’s not hard to do, just costs money and I’m sure they will pour enough in to do it right.
I think you’ll see 30 million subscribers in the first week, and that’s not including all the lefty shills that will join to cause trouble.
Plus it'll keep him from having to play favorites between Gab and Parler. Hate to say it, but some folks can be a little easily offended around here when it comes to those places. 🙄 Picking either side is a potential disaster.
As for this place....lately there's some stuff around this forum that is, well, suspicious. Comes out in waves like people are trying to push a meme that there is no hope. People who make a genuine attempt to organize this place tend to get ignored. That in itself is deadly, and the mods allowing it is dangerous, IMO.

But the fact is there is no hope so long as good people keep doing nothing, regardless of what I say or how anyone feels.
