If anyone thinks the military isn't affected by politics they are sadly mistaken. Most of the higher ranking officers and their careers are politically dependent. Remember it was Obama who fired hundreds of Generals, Admirals, and many in the field grade left as soon as they could because they saw no future. Obama tried his best to weaken any military influence he was afraid of. But as an old Marine I think the vast majority are just bidding their time, and keeping their mouths shut. If anything, like the police they are sworn oath takers, and take the Constitution very seriously. Most politicians just mouth the words for their own use, and benefit. But when the Constitution is threatened those that put their lives on the line to protect it will have a say about that ! One way or another Socialism will not happen ! I look at Spain in 1936 as an example. Hopefully an upraising won't happened, but if it does it will be a deadly, and complete house cleaning.
