Just a basic simple grocery store trip is now crazy expensive! Where the hell is the money going?? Just basic, very cheap stuff like lentils is now more expensive than it was just a year ago. Chicken, beef, even produce has gotten more expensive.
Forget about ever getting a cheap low-budget lunch at a small restaurant now. That's gone. Even just chicken soup is way more expensive than it used to be.
Even canned stuff is more expensive. Canned soup used to be really cheap. Now, you have to make sure to only buy it when it's on sale.

When was the food practically free? Although yeah there was a time when fast food places were really really cheap. You could get a burger and fries and a drink and a side for like 6 bucks with tax. Subway used to be cheap and good too.
When you have to be well under the poverty line for food to make up a significant percentage of your income, it's practically free.
It's definitely not "practically free" now lol.
And if we keep it up much longer, it will soon become priceless.
We got homeless people who are fat. Food gotta be free.
