They think it's only them. Back in the day when I'd fly home from Italy they would ask me in customs if that was a giant sausage I was smuggling in, or if I was just happy to see them. I'd say I was happy, so they would take me in the back room to look for a sausage that was never there. Just me being happy. The only other choice was to say it was a sausage, but that would be saying I was smuggling, which I wasn't.
