I'm just telling you why the chilling effect is happening. There's real skin in the game for even level 1 right now. This is a unique time in most of our lives. Up until now, starting something like a campus conservatives club was benign. Now it's a hate crime on some campuses. Being conservative in public is a risk now. Conservative speakers (are are really middle of the road) are met with riots at colleges and kicked off Facebook and youtube.

You can't be surprised that people are afraid.
