China is beating us in every sector except the military. Millions of soldiers do not make an army in this day and age. A large number of soldiers is a hindrance. The next real war will be a cyber attack that takes down infrastructure. By doing that, we will kill each other while the enemy watches. Of course, we will retaliate in kind or we may be the ones who start it but in any case, that’s how it will happen. The bombs are just window dressing now as there’s no need to drop them.
