She looked at me lile I was stupid and said there were 18 wheeler trailer parked outside of hospitals because the morgues were over flowing. That one stunned me, but then I asked here, Where?, and she said she can't talk to me and just walked off. It's lile they are scared to death of being exposed to common sense and truth. It's WEIRD.

At a hospital where he worked, the ward run by midwives who washed hands and changed the bed sheets had a much lower infant and mother mortality rate than the ward run by doctors who often went straight from autopsies to child delivery without washing up. Ignaz didn't have a sufficiently science smelling explaination to convince anyone. He was leaning far too heavily on common sense.
As the story goes, after pastuer and lister made germ theory a thing for cool kids, many of the docs who'd earlier dismissed semmelweiss would be racked with guilt and commit suicide after realizing they may have been killing people with thier refusal to wash hands.
The insanity driving science and medicine today is almost the inverse of what semmelweiss was up against. Modern cool kids live in fear of rejecting the next lifesaving idea. And as a result will entertain the most ridiculous bullshit if it was published in the right journal. No one has the balls to call bullshit anymore. We've reverted back to silly superstition and sacred cows.
Where semmelweiss applies to Rona lockdowns and mandates is that anyone today calling bullshit on mandates that don't pass the smell test is punished. Anyone bringing up the obvious consequences of an unnecessary lockdown are dismissed and anyone bringing up the constitutional issues is labeled as being selfish.
There is also a social mechanism whereby the discoverer of new knowledge gets punished reflexively.
Envy is a powerful thing. It can drive people to believe lies that hurt the ones they envy. I suspect that lefties, previously thought of as edgy and rebellious, envy those of us modern day rebels who can forget the mask and live a remotely normal life in spite of it all. They honestly want it to be us who are driven by guilt to suicide after the great reveal. Sadly it will likely be the non sociopaths among them who get racked with guilt, if the great reveal is ever allowed to happen.
