Typically, but this one causes pneumonia too. π€·π»ββοΈ
Calling it only a cold is as much a conspiracy theory as saying the moon landing was faked. It makes you look bad. You have to realize it causes serious disease in a very small percentage of people that get it. Underestimating it is just as bad as overestimating it. Be realistic. But donβt shut down economies because of it.
Agree 100%. The government response has certainly been worse than the disease, but this kind of blatant stupidity (conflating this particular virus with the family of viruses from which it comes) doesn't help our case. It makes us look stupid.
anything that infects the body and impacts breathing can "cause" pneumonia - in fact there was an increase in elderly patients who were vaccinated, additionally add the ventilator method of killing people to the mix...
Among the 2,634 patients for whom outcomes were known, the overall death rate was 21%, but it rose to 88% for those who received mechanical ventilation, the Northwell Health COVID-19 Research Consortium reported.
This is just blatantly false. Iβm an ER doctor. Only things that infect the lungs cause pneumonia. And you linked something to the pneumococcal vaccine which helps prevent against specifically strep pneumoniae pneumonia. Why?
you should then understand how people become susceptible to pneumonia then?
There are typical things that set the stage for an opportunistic infection that settles into the lungs - breathing is part of that equation just like it is when you get broken ribs or congestion from other sources.
