As a BJJ guy I really despise the restraint tactics used by the officers. HOWEVER, this is the fault of the training not the individual. I agree with Jocko that cops should have 6 months of grappling training while in the Academy. The best cops I know are guys who train BJJ weekly.

Ultimately Chauvin and his fellow officers followed their training almost perfectly. The conversation should be around reforming the training. However this will just be race baiting bullshit. Inb4 the country burns again this summer, no matter what the outcome is.

Well it's not the fault of the training that Floyd died of a drug overdose.

It can and is a multi-variable issue. I completely concur that it was the Fentynal that killed him. No doubt about that. Mans was high as a kite.

On another note, how often to police get into grapples versus have to pull their pistol? I actually could see your idea having merit but maybe they need more realistic shooting practice as well?
