Unpopular opinion: The people most responsible for the state of our country are the citizens who fell for the lies they were fed about why welfare was going to be good, and why income tax was good, etc.

In the long run, it is "we the people" who are responsible for the mess we are in, but while some blame is laid upon us, the majority of the fault is on a generation that is no longer alive.
