Anyone else going maskless? Here's my experience so far.
In most shops there are still a majority of people wearing them but very rarely am I ever asked to put one on. I now avoid the stores that say something whenever possible. Otherwise, I maybe get a few looks but don't pay much attention and no other shopper has ever asked me to put one on. I carry one with me in case I get asked so I can put it on, shop, leave, and never come back. I am not out there to cause a confrontation but rather to show people that we can safely conduct commerce without a mask and show support to the others who have made the same decision. Also helps that my church is anti-mask and we never wear them during services or events. It's overall been very good for my mood, especially in the face of the unfolding tragedy that is this administration.
I live in Colorado with "madatory" mask bullshit and have never worn one......only one time has someone said something to me and i just left all my items in the cart and walked away... fuck compliance
I'm just really thankful for this online community because we can connect with like-minded people. I have stopped complying with the masks and am now waiting to see what happens with the vaccine "passports." We will not vaccinate our kids or ourselves. And I'm not expressly against vaccines, just the ones where we're expected to be the guinea pigs.
Im not against anyone doing anything they want as long as it doesnt harm anyone or deprive them of any God given rights
Also in Texas, we've only worn our masks to accommodate some of the small local businesses who would not be able to afford being shut down if mask nazis schreeched at them.
But in big stores- HEB and kroger, Lowes - we don't wear them. I tell people I have a condition and cannot wear it, and I laugh when they ask what the condition is, explaining by law they may not ask me. Very few places have attempted to insist, and I have told a few one of my conditions is Freedom as I walk by.
Only places where we have had problems from management is Chili's, Half Price Books, Ashley Furniture, Bel Furniture and Walgreens. Walmart has asked us a couple times to please use their curbside service or mask, we politely refuse and they back down.
Back some months ago a mask Karen tried to grab my Wife's arm as she strode by, my Wife turned and thumped her on the chest, told her to never touch her again or she'd beat her azz.... I Love that Woman.

Love it, you're wife is a not a woman to be messed with!
The big stores have mostly left me alone. I thought Target would be a problem (I don't like shopping there) but even they didn't say anything.
I'm in Texas and I've never worn a mask once....not to a doctors office, not in my kids school. Not anywhere. Why would you have ever worn a mask?
Mostly it just wasn't worth the hassle. That and my wife was kind of worried about us being singled out by some wackos to get our car keyed or something like that. Maybe we were just being a little paranoid but I carry and am really concerned that I might have to draw on someone or actually discharge my firearm. I ultimately feel more comfortable when I carry but I also find myself letting a lot of small things go so I don't get in a worse confrontation.
Also, the doctors around here wouldn't see you without a mask as well so sometimes it was easier just to go along with it. Now I've taken a much stronger stance and am more militant about not wearing it, period.
how much of a hassle is your freedom worth to you?
At first I could excuse my going along with it as protecting my family but I've turned around on that one. Now I am more likely to not comply as a positive example to my kids. We talk about the masks in the context of our freedoms all the time and I want them to see me walking the walk.
I actually enjoy confrontation when it is well deserved. If not, I just walk away.
There is something satisfying about it :)
What took you so long?
My excuse was that I have kids and don't want to make us any kind of target for wackos. My wife was kind of pushing that but now we've reversed our position and she's dropped the mask as well. In hindsight, I could have stopped wearing it earlier but now I'm totally comfortable when I'm out and about.
I have 4 kids. I have been only hassled twice since this shit started. I just ignore them and go one about my business.
My wife wears one entering and then pulls off her nose. I give her crap.
I also tell her to stop worrying.
More people need to hear this. If you aren't in a place like NYC or downtown San Francisco, the chances that you'll be confronted for not wearing a mask are pretty low. And even then, most people are more likely to just avoid you.
I agree.
I ask mask wears if they will continue to “protect” others when the government says no more mandate.
Most say no. Then I ask why are they wearing one now? Most don’t have a answer.
I haven't worn a mask the entire time. If I am ever asked to wear a mask, which is not uncommon, I ignore them, or say no "thank you" and continue about my business - the high school, department stores, grocery stores, doctors office, restaurants, etc.
Sometimes I get looks from people where they think I'm a bad or dumb person. Sometimes I get looks from people where they think I'm going to get them sick and kill their grandma. Sometimes I get looks from people where I can tell they wish they weren't wearing a mask either.
Whenever I went to Wal-Mart during the mask mandate, I usually saw a few people not wearing a mask. About a week ago when I went in and saw a surprising number (but a far, far cry from "normal") not wearing a mask.
You're an inspiration! And I don't mean that sarcastically, a lot of us were kind of looking around for someone else to do it first before we took the plunge. Now I try to be that person for others. I don't think it will be long before the mask wearers are in the definite minority.
Thank you. It is sincerely a blessing to hear that!
While I do NOT think that wearing a mask is the mark of the beast, what I have come to realize is just how feasible it is that the entire world can be convinced to worship the beast. I have looked at my efforts as a way to show others that you can fight. And it always feels like I'm talking to a brick wall.
That said, the church is one place I have not gone to the entire time. My church requires (asks us to out of love for neighbor) masks. I guess I have a certain reverence for the church that I'm not ready to take my civil disobedience there yet; I don't know if it is time to nail my thesis to their door.
It is good to know that your church is anti-mask. I haven't been able to find a way to find churches that haven't adopted this practice.
As a Lutheran I totally support nailing grievances to doors :)
As for churches, it seems like the more conservative leaning the curch the less likely they are to enforce a mask. Our pastors actually added a separate service for the small percentage of the congregation that still wants to wear a mask and that's mostly made of the people who have a higher risk profile, like the elderly and some other conditions like maybe they're recovering from cancer.
I'm with you on the beast thing as well. Every instance of evil out there is just different heads of the same beast poking up in different contexts. This is 100% a spiritual attack.
I live in Texas in a small town. I have worn my mask 3 times from the onset. Once, to get into Academy where I removed it after I entered and twice entering a restaurant where I removed it once I got past the front door.
The restaurant thing is the same here though most places have dropped the farce of requiring a mask until you sit down. As if the wu-flu somehow knows that once you arrive at your table it can't attack you.
Near Oklahoma City. I have not been wearing a mask for many months. The grocery store never gives me grief but has signs. In the past few weeks I have started to see a great increase in the number of others not wearing masks. I used to see maybe another guy or middle age couple without masks, but this weekend saw nearly half of the shoppers not wearing masks. A lot of workers are exposing their noses for easier breathing. I assume the grocery store is making employees wear masks, so maybe that is their get-around.
Same here, the stores still have the signs up but no enforcement.
Surprisingly, Chipotle have taken down their signs though again, customers are still wearing them.
Largely ignored where I live in Georgia. Kroger and Walmart have signs but do not enforce. I don't wear them there. Not sure about Publix and heard Lowe's is still harassing customers although going maskless in the outdoor garden section is OK.
Purchased a new car at one of the local dealerships. No masks anywhere and shook the salesman's hand. Not required for customers in any restaurants and most of the workers have the masks below their nose or chin.
There was a big outdoor market downtown and mask wearing was about 50/50.
That's great to hear. Kroger here has mostly masked people but no one enforcing if we go maskless. We have a hippy store called Sprouts (organic and overpriced) that is still enforcing so I've stopped shopping there. Couldn't stand it anyway.
Went to a rodeo that was packed with about 1000 people. Maybe 10% wearing masks.
I may have to travel to Virginia soon and from what I hear it's still pretty locked down there. I'm now at the point where I don't know if I can get used to always wearing a mask again.
Most people that use their brains never wore the mask to begin with. Only compliment nobodys wear the mask cause the gubberment or the policy says so.
I stopped wearing a mask a few months ago. I'm in commie California. Only once have I had someone ask why I wasn't wearing a mask. Once I told him it doesn't work he took his off.
This is the type of story that I believe is way more common. Most people, even in CA, are wearing the mask but they don't want a confrontation so they just don't say anything. The whole "mask arrest" thing is way more the exception than the rule.
I swear every time it starts a chain reaction... People see me without a mask and take theirs off.
I love when that happens. I haven't seen it directly but I've walked into a store with no mask and by the time I leave there's at least 3-4 more.
I live in SC, we never had a mandate and I never wore one!😎
Nobody is talking about this! Places like Florida and New York/California are getting all of the attention but SC never had a mandate and it seems like they're doing pretty well. When you go shopping are many people wearing maska?
