I'm literally fighting local health department in telling them their data is shit. We have 3 counties that consist of around 80,000 people in this one health department. We have on average 10-20 people per day getting tested with a positivity rate of around 20%. HOW IN THE FUCK is that representative to the rest of the population?! It can't be! Help me fight these worthless, power hungry assholes!

Annoy your boss until you can get a larger sample size.

Rough determinations for sample sizes proportional to population size:

Pop Size: 80,000

Required Sample Size: 2331

Edit: The calculator is for survey sample sizes but the theory still applies. If only sick people are walking in to get tested then you will have a greater (+) rate.
