"Psychological structures" are easiest to explain by comparing to a program. A simple program is short, somewhat adequate but doesn't handle niche cases. To handle niche cases you have to write lots of additional code. Your program then grows in size by 10x or 100x and suddenly you have a big program. The big program still does fundamentally the same thing as the short one, but now it mysteriously behaves with a lot fewer sharp edges than the short one did. The big program accumulates knowledge about the world which the initial short program did not have.
(Then someone comes along and is abhorred by the size of the big program. It contains so much stuff, they find it difficult to understand. Instead they prefer to throw it away and start again with a short program. And so they do, and now the short program again has a bunch of sharp edges and wrong behaviors in corner cases that have to be polished over time, until the program again grows big.)

We've had a mental health crisis in this country for the past 30-40 odd years. IMO it's due to the massive overdose of prescription medications the pharmaceutical industry has been pushing on everyone. Pills for hyperactive kids, pills to keep you from getting pregnant, pills to keep you happy, pills to help you sleep, pills to make you feel sane. Don't ignore the fact that our bodies don't absorb 100% of it and it gets released into the water supply and cannot be removed except by distillation or reverse osmosis. So we're literally drinking each other's meds.

The name "schizophrenia" does not convey understanding. It's a name for a drawer into which we put people with weird symptoms. We don't understand the number or nature of malfunctions that we're putting in this drawer. We could begin to understand this once we stop prodding brains from outside like we're going to learn something that way, and start studying our own minds from within.
"Psychological structures" are easiest to explain by comparing to a program. A simple program is short, somewhat adequate but doesn't handle niche cases. To handle niche cases you have to write lots of additional code. Your program then grows in size by 10x or 100x and suddenly you have a big program. The big program still does fundamentally the same thing as the short one, but now it mysteriously behaves with a lot fewer sharp edges than the short one did. The big program accumulates knowledge about the world which the initial short program did not have.
(Then someone comes along and is abhorred by the size of the big program. It contains so much stuff, they find it difficult to understand. Instead they prefer to throw it away and start again with a short program. And so they do, and now the short program again has a bunch of sharp edges and wrong behaviors in corner cases that have to be polished over time, until the program again grows big.)

Fundamentally, it's a lack of spirituality. It doesn't have to be religion, it doesn't have to be Christianity, but a person needs some kind of belief in the eternal validity of the soul, some kind of fundamental faith in miracles, to ward off existential panic.

They will take an experimental vaccine that's been tested for only a few months, where no long-term safety data is known, where VAERS reports exceed those for the flu vaccines by factors of 300x, where there are legitimate concerns about long-term survival and permanent injury – they will take that vaccine because they trust rushed engineering more than their own immune systems. Because they think their immune systems are deterministic, that their bodies are machines, that everything produced by nature is to be distrusted and is out to kill us and betray us.

I think a more effective explanation is that leftism, as well as mental illness, have a thing in common, and that's dysfunctional beliefs. This is to say, it is an absence of correct beliefs, and this comes about because the correct beliefs are counter-intuitive to someone indoctrinated with modern scientism.
The core problem is the belief in a material universe, which ingrains the belief that the locus of control is outside the person, so therefore the outside environment must be controlled.
It is not spread only by cats. I used to think it was kind of hard for Jesus to call people hypocrites when they couldn't discern the signs of the times. He called them hypocrites, since they can look at the sky and tell it will be bad weather coming, but they can't look at current events and the world and see what's up. He was spot on, as usual.

We've had a mental health crisis in this country for the past 30-40 odd years. IMO it's due to the massive overdose of prescription medications the pharmaceutical industry has been pushing on everyone. Pills for hyperactive kids, pills to keep you from getting pregnant, pills to keep you happy, pills to help you sleep, pills to make you feel sane. Don't ignore the fact that our bodies don't absorb 100% of it and it gets released into the water supply and cannot be removed except by distillation or reverse osmosis. So we're literally drinking each other's meds.
This has been going on for so long now that the people who grew up with this shit constantly in their system.. are now being elected to offices of power and/or are voting for the psychos who never would have been elected let alone be out of jail or a mental institution even 20 years ago.
