First, I didn't mean to imply it's okay in any way, I absolutely disagree with this crap. Having clarified that, let me say:
Of course it doesn't stop there, but like a lot of us have been discovering-- there's a lot of things we can absolutely do without. Bank account? What's that? Haven't had one for almost 2 years. I buy prepaid cards and don't give personal info. Forced out of society? I resigned from society quite some time ago-- everyone starts with my respect, it's my DISrespect they have to earn. I have-ahem-power tools, family, and close friends to discourage being snatched and sent anywhere (not that it will prevent superior numbers from accomplishing it, but the price paid will be high). Nobody will see or care? Dude, I was held down by the neck in front of dozens of people on at least 3 occasions in my life, and no one cared, so what's new? I'm white, I'm very tall and wide of shoulder, and the optics didn't fit any kind of discrimination narrative (my main crimes were being poor and having authority issues).
You are absolutely correct-- this is a deliberate assault. The problem is that we're actively participating in it with every tweet, facebook post, and Coke we drink.
