I got into an argument with some old bat while I was standing in the Walgreen's pharmacy line the other day. I'm not wearing the mask. I asked her if the mask was effective at stopping the virus. She said yes. I said: if the mask is effective, then why do we still have the "covid outbreak". Why aren't there any flu statistics for this past year? She said it was because of mask mandates. I then asked: why would she think that the mask is completely effective at eradicating the flu but ineffective at eradicating covid? (no answer). I then said: if she thought the mask is effective at preventing the spread of covid, why would I, myself, need to wear one? (because I might leave my germs on surfaces that other people touch). I said: if others are concerned about contracting covid, shouldn't it be their responsibility to refrain from touching objects, rather than forcing their mania on me? (no answer).
The flu is legit droplet based but covid can float a while and is probably airborne. The masks offer a 60% reduction at best... those odds are real close to 50/50 and I don't see anyone wearing goggles or face shields.
I know this because I read a lot of biorxiv. I also know you can't fight a cult with logic or science and so the circus continues.
In my big blue ass city I saw a few people not wearing them at the grocery store recently, nobody said shit. The tards are a vocal minority.
