Just got a call from the folks who train and use poll workers in my very blue location, NYC. But specifically Queens which has a couple of conservatives, I guess. I used to be registered as Democrat so I could vote in their primaries (for the worst possible candidate), but recently switched to Republican because now I want to be counted!
So this call was because I took the training over a year ago to be a poll worker but never did it because-- so many reasons-- but now they really want me and they will be more accommodating in terms of location, the guy said, because they need Republicans at the polls!
I don't know about other places, but here the law is that a Demonrat and a Republican must work together on any issues that arise and tasks that need to be taken care of. I know it's not precinct committeeman but I'm excited to get involved in this way. Maybe next election I'll be the one pulling suitcases full of ballots out from under a table and scanning them multiple times-- but for a Republican candidate!
Kidding of course! Like I would ever do that!
I'm in nyc too. Let me know who to contact I'll join you
Cool! But I'm not going to hear from them again until July when new training begins. Here's a website:

Should have everything you need there.
