I spoke to a based owner operator trucker at work the other day while I was unloading a load from his 53ft flat bed trailer. He said he got 450 bucks for that particular load. Sounds pretty good. But then he said it cost him 400 bucks to fill his tanks. He didn't say how far that gets him in a day. But he did tell me he can do anywhere from 3 to 4 loads a day. I always do my best to get the trucks unloaded as fast, and as safe as possible, usually anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the load, so as to not keep them from their next load.
I've got friends in the trucking business and they're worried about insurance, not gas, just like when Obama came into office. That's what concerns me.
