I understand that the 1st Amendment protects them, but when they're actually actively damaging the country there should be some kind of considerations in place. In the early 20th Century we had "yellow journalism", and the outcome of that was a war with Spain over something that didn't happen and a President being assassinated. It seems they learned their lesson until now because they didn't try to actively incite people until Trump, but most prominently, covid.

Seriously, this "pandemic" is a fucking farce; 99.9% survival rate, average age of death higher than the average life expectancy. Sure, it meets the strict definition of "pandemic" insofar as it's an illness that has spread into multiple countries, but so do a lot of things that aren't a big deal such as influenza. The bottom line is this wouldn't even be a blip if not for the media.

There were hearings in Canada to stop funding media here (CBC for example), a couple months ago. I and thousands sent in letters to the Communications Board for the hearings. They...are...still...getting taxpayer money. It pisses me off. Not watching them isn't helping either, the CBC has about a 13% viewership, which is shit, and they are still on the air.
