This is my main argument against leftists on this issues. When they retort with the "what, you don't care about those dozens or hundreds of people" I respond with "no, actually, I don't give a single fuck about than when we have 120 people a week dying from drunk drivers, or 900 per week from suicide, or [insert any other common mode of largely preventable death]"
Exactly. I was looking into this data and the libs will say crap like "40k people die from guns each year." Then you start looking at the data and see stuff like 60% of gun deaths are self-inflicted death (suicide), the other 30% is crime (mostly drug-related gang bangers doing it), the other 5% is unintentional accident and the other 5% is in a catch-all category where motive can't be determined.
So it is like.......hmm, maybe guns aren't the problem. Maybe it is mental health and the drug problem that is the core issue here.
