Why? He saw a guy with a gun and controlled him. When he had a chance to investigate why the gun had been drawn, the victim was released without charges. It's not his fault some folks on this forum went full ACAB before all the facts were in.

That cop had been watching the Antifags assault people all day, and did nothing. The moment one of the victims pulled a weapon to defend himself, the cop was on him like white on left-wing targets.

That's a political order from higher up. We've known they've been told to stand down for at least the last year. What's he going to do, defy the Antifag mayor and ruin his own career over a gang of scumbags who vastly outnumbered him (and would eagerly kill him) and would only be cut loose again anyway? If he hadn't intervened that guy would have had to shoot some of them. Not to say that's a bad thing, but then he would have been truly fucked. The officer kept the peace as best he could while handcuffed, defusing the scene and getting the victim out of the clutches of those animals, and while I also wish he had done a lot more I know the grunts on the street aren't the ones making these calls. Hang the fucking ringleaders and the blue line will be able to do their jobs.

"Just following orders." It's a wonderful excuse, with a wonderful history of protecting those who "just followed orders" as opposed to doing what is right. Yes, he absolutely should defy the Antifag mayor.
