A few years ago I went to get my license renewed and my mom went with me(she had to get tags for her car). Anyways they asked me if I wanted to get my fingerprint on my license, I said hell no and my mom looked at me like I was crazy. I had to explain to her that there was no way in hell I was giving the govt my fingerprints. People are way too trusting of the govt nowadays.
It's common practice for police departments to go to schools on 'Fun Nights' and other events and have a classroom set up to take fingerprints.
The kids shuffle in and do it at a young age while they're not likely to be engaged in any serious crimes - but the fingerprints are now on file for later.
It's sneaky as all hell and parents are usually so ignorant/naive they're happy to let the kid get some ink on his fingers.
