They have been trying that push for a global electronic currency for a long time now. The reason why is easy, just imagine google owned your financial ability, all of it. Finances shut down or eradicated at the push of a button. I sometimes wonder if bitcoin isn't another attempt at it that many seem to be falling for.

They can't just shut down bitcoin like that. No one person has control over it, it is decentralized.
