Looking back at it , this scene is crude. Notice, though, even then the stage was being set to blame "The Oligarchs," or the corporate, industrial, and financial interests who "influence" Washington. This plays into the human faults of envy and victimhood. I would simply ask, "Is it in David Rockefeller's interest for media to crank out demoralizing filth? Does government corruption work for the Rockefellers? How about leftist and "progressive" propaganda in out public schools? Is that a Rockefeller project?"

What we are facing in the 2020s feels like an echo of what started in the 70s, when more than one person with power and means decided to say "Enough!"
I believe that Donald Trump was one of those people, and he has been carefully planning and plotting to fix this country, in collusion with several other people.
I believe he made a decision to put us through 2020 and 2021 because it will prepare us for something truly awful that we have a hard time conceiving of.

Once you see it, you start seeing it everywhere, even in the old movies. They have been at this for a long time.
I saw this in re-runs.
What was obvious to me at the time was the bald-headed conspiracy theorist WAS the legitimate voice of the writers and Barney Miller and the other cop we're playing the straight-men roles so this guy could get these words on TV without anyone accusing the show of being conspriacy nuts.
At the time this show was made- late 70s early 80s - the larger part of left was all anti-world government which they foresaw as an instrument of Big Business, David Rockefeller and his cronies being exactly whom they feared.
If you recall the left, guys like Nader, were all against CAFTA and NAFTA and the Trans Pacific Partnership two out of three at least Trump dumped (woo hoo) . But then Trump asumed their positions, TDS kicked in and poof those same leftists now love globalism !
If this were today, and the leftists were writing it, they never would have let the guy actually make his case in the way they did. He gets in too many words, too many coherent sentences for the writers to not be concerned with letting him actually speak his piece. That's exactly why we can recognize it as prophetic today- because he gets to make his point.
