The entire point of term limits is that it would limit corruption, since there would be a much higher chance of these dirty backroom deals getting exposed. The illegal political influence of these massive corporations and interest groups requires long term relationships.
Think of it like buying groceries. If you are buying food that will be eaten 15 years from now, blowing cash on raw produce is stupid. It will rot before you get the chance to eat it. Term limits change politicians into produce with a drastically short shelf life.
Additionally, time has to be spent testing the ethics and moral character of the new politician. They can't just use the old "wrap your license in a 20$ bill on accident" routine, and hope they are evil enough to accept it. By the time the two parties reach a high enough level of trust to start the bribery, the politian is on the way out. No "book deals" after they leave, either.
Trump made it clear that there would be no point to seduce and coerce, because any of the cabinet officials may be removed at any time, wasting all the money spent to buy them. Increasing the risk involved, will naturally deter bribery.
