I am an atheist, and same here- or rather I am concerned we do not have an alternative carrier for western values as people leave the church.
Civic nationalism in public school has long been abandoned, the church is dying (Their own fault), and no western cultural leaders exist that appeal to the young.
The majority of atheists have proven themselves too stupid to both be atheist, and not immediately replace religious doctrine with the equally dogmatic doctrine of the first culturally marxist organization they find that agrees with them that god is a lie.

Most public atheists are about bashing religion instead of getting to the bottom of things, which requires researching many religions. Jordan Peterson and Prager are pretty cool. I think we all need to dig deep into the occult / psychedelics / shamanism to get to the good stuff that is missing in western Christianity.
I'm an unbeliever (not atheist, there's a difference) and agree with you. Judeo-Christian values are the bedrock of society. Not socialism, not islam, but the moral precepts of Christianity.
I’ve heard founders quoted as saying the republic cannot last without God’s influence on the culture of the people (we lost it). An interesting read for you might be Romans 1:18 til the end of chapter 1. Lays the blueprint of where America is currently.
Nothing wrong with teaching and instilling family values in your children using the fear of eternal damnation. Do you need to actually believe in that stuff, nope.
