I'm a Catholic. Born and Raised. A cradle Catholic. I'll get that out of the way. This is year 2 that Lent & Easter has been f'd up beyond recognition.
Here's the bottom line: This graph is a failure of clergy, and the men who possessed the power to grow the flock as disciples, instead hid their deception amongst their ranks from top to bottom. I cannot blame society - though it's rank materialism and consumerism is a whole other matter.
Catholics acknowledge the power of authority. But which authority? I know personally this has been a miserable failure when the Archbishops in Texas are following the Federal authority versus the States authority, especially around lockdowns, masks, and social distancing. I will not wear a mask to mask. I will not wear a mask to pray the Rosary. It's stupid.
Nothing wrong with Beam. You like what you like. But when someone shits on Beam in favor of Buffalo Trace? No thanks.
If you like Beam and want something a little special now and then Booker's, Baker's, or even Basil Hayden are good single batch options. These days I'm a fan of Whistle Pig Rye if you can get past where it's made (VT).
